ADA 1O1:

Gr. 9 Drama

Are you excited to use theatre as a way of learning about yourself and the world? The grade nine course is an opportunity to develop your “voice”. Here, we explore current events and issues through role play and open scenes. You will learn to analyse characters and story on stage all while exploring different styles of performing. 

No dramatic experience is required for this course.

Gr. 10 Drama

ADA 2O1:

In grade ten, students continue to explore dramatic forms, conventions, and techniques. With an emphasis on developing comedic timing, this course explores Improv, farce, satire and slapstick. Students will assume responsibility for decisions made in the creative and collaborative processes and will reflect on their experiences. 

There is no prerequisite for this course.

ADA 3M1:

Gr. 11 Drama

This course asks students to create and perform, analyse and interpret, dramatic works from various cultures and time periods. Here, students learn how theatre can be a tool for social change, education and solving world problems. We will research various acting styles and conventions to improve our craft.

ADA 1O1 or ADA 2O1 is a prerequisite for this course.
ADA 4M1:

Gr. 12 Drama

This course allows students to experiment individually and collaboratively to create original works.  Students will interpret dramatic literature and other media sources while learning about theories of directing and acting. Students will analyse how the knowledge and skills developed in drama are related to their personal skills, social awareness, and goals beyond secondary school, no matter their career choice.

ADA 3M1 is a prerequisite for this course.
